"The Book That Changed The World" celebrates the KJVs impact on global history and on the English language worldwide. This app captures images and descriptions of Bible Society Australias historic Bibles collection. Dr Greg Clarke, CEO of Bible Society Australia, says it is a privilege to mark the 400th anniversary of the KJV and enable people to see not only an original King James Bible from 1611, but a display of significant Bibles in the life of Australia since the early days of the British colony.
This app records the Bibles and documents from the Bible Societys heritage collection that are on display. These include early Bibles in Australias indigenous languages, a 1551 Tyndale New Testament, a 1495 Latin Vulgate and a 1607 Geneva Bible said to have been Shakespeares.
Historian Dr John Harris provides audio commentary for each exhibit. His lectures are a highlight of the collections tour around Australia.
